We’re entering one of my favorite times of the year when all the pumpkin-themed drinks and decor becomes everyone’s go-to and the leaves start to crisp and fall from the trees: autumn! I can’t think of a more fitting way to welcome the fall season than with a collection of classic trench coat outfit ideas.
Outfit 1: Let’s start with a stylish casual look featuring a cream boat neck Dolman sleeve sweater paired with cropped paper bag pants. I love the shapes created with these pieces. For the trench I’d opt for a caramel double-breasted long trench coat that makes any outfit look extra sophisticated. Tie in the whole look together with a black leather tote bag and buckle backless loafer sandals.
Outfit 2: I also love a classic puff sleeve sweatshirt. I’d pair it with faux leather leggings as well as Chelsea ankle boots. I love the perfect balance of edgy feminine with the soft sweater material contrasted with the pleather pants and booties. This is an ideal opportunity for a mid-length dress trench coat as the faux leather material is enough to keep warm.
Outfit 3: For a take that prioritizes comfort over anything, opt for this striped half-zip pullover with some shaping skinny jeans and dual-tone leather sneakers. Pair it with a double-breasted long trench coat and a top-handle crossbody bag to dress up the whole ensemble. This look is designed to keep you comfy as you go about your day whether it’s an errands day or a fun weekend.
Outfit 4: You can also try out a pleated shoulder crewneck sweater that is in the same color as your mid-length dress trench coat. There’s something about the seamless transition from the coat to the top that adds a subtle texture. I’d mix in denim-wash skinny jeans that go well with the khaki undertones and complete the look with white faux leather sneakers.
Outfit 5: This long-sleeve striped crewneck sweater and ripped-cropped jeans combo is a nice go-to. The stripes with the denim pair together nicely with a nice tan double-breasted long trench coat. I love the relaxed vibe that is brought on by vintage-looking platform sneakers and a vegan leather guitar strap bag that’s almost unexpected with a trench coat.
